Texas drag Race driver loses control of the vehicle, Two children killed and eight people injured

 


The accident happened Saturday afternoon in the Texas Hill Country. A drag racing vehicle loses control and veered off a track. Two children were killed and eight people were injured .  

One child,  a six year old boy who dead in the spot and second boy was eight year old who died in the hospital. The eight people injured badly, two 48,27 year old women in bad condition, a 3 month baby and a 4 year old boy were hospitalised. Two people were treated at the scene.  A 26 year old man whose condition was unknown and a 34 year old driver found in a bad situation. 

Police said all  injured people were taken to medical facilities in Kerrville, Austin and San Antonio.

The crash happened afternoon . At a temporary track at Kerrville Aviation at the Kerrville-Kerr County Airport.

The race was organised for "Airport Race War 2". The event was promoted on the Kerrville Convention center and Visitors Bureau website. People come see some of the fastest drag cars compete for over $8000 in total prizes.

Jim Lefko wrote in Twitter "This photo shows the aftermath of an accident at the Kerrville airport today where a Race Wars event ended in tragedy. We are headed to the scene and will report more information as it becomes available but we're being told 2 children were killed and 5 people critically injured".
